3000 years ago, in the time where demons and humans lived together, there had been peace through the three lands. Demons and humans worked together to prosper from each other's strengths; no one went hungry, and everyone was safe.
But such times have long past. Now, humans live in fear all the time, for demons stealthily sneak into a home and devour its residents without making a sound. Because of their fear, the humans are limited as to how far they could go from their villages for food. The demons faired better, for they had nothing to fear in the humans. Thus the demons came into power in the lands. Times were dark; demons held power over all the three lands, while the humans were either hunted by them or worked for them.
Now, after decades of poverty and silence, a small band of humans forced the beginnings of what would become an army of rebels. After they stole from demons and showed the people what had once been, the small band became steadily larger by each day. Humans came in droves seeking enlistment in the growing army of rebels. The leader, General Artemal, always made sure no one went hungry unless everybody did, and therefore, the rebels followed him without question. They regained nearly all of the land of Tal back from the demons before he was killed in battle. He left the army to his 18 year old daughter, Kagami, who lived up to her father's image as a powerful warrior and merciful leader.
Under Kagami's leadership, the army took control of the Land of Tal and over half of the Land of Ulnor.
